Swami Yogaratna Saraswati 

With over 34 years of experience in practicing and teaching yoga from the tradition of Bihar School of Yoga (BSY), Swami Yogaratna Saraswati is a beacon of light for those on the path of meditation. She is known around the world for her talent in leading Yoga Nidra and other Meditations from the tantras, yoga therapy, yoga for children, the higher techniques of Chakra Sadhana, Kundalini yoga and many others, including satsangs (talks) and kirtans (group singing).

Her ashram in Gokarna called  Shankar Prasad Foundation is the representation of her true spirit. With regular yoga and meditation classes open to anyone, an organic rice farm, an English medium primary school, 100% environmentally sustainable practices, and community projects across Gokarna such as dog sterilization, reforestation, and waste management – the ashram is an inspiring place to imbibe the true spirit of yoga.  Born in Paris of Australian parents and raised in India, Swamiji studied art, education, and linguistics in India and Australia. After studying, working, and travelling, she committed her life to spiritual quest.


Sudeepta Shanbhag

Sudeepta is an ERYT 500 who started practicing yoga in her early teens and has studied with teachers in India and the US specialised in different traditions. Her 900+ hrs of training include a Yoga Nidra 200hr training, Level 1 and 2 training in Special needs, Yin, Vinyasa and many more. She is a lead trainer in TTC programs and teaches asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra. Her interest lies in making yoga accessible to everyone and teaches children and adults with special needs like cerebral palsy, autism (motor skills, balance, changing behaviour patterns) and kids with cancer (pain relief, emotional resilience). She is a mother to energetic twin boys who help her appreciate the practice of sitting in stillness.

Sudeepta has a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from RVCE, Bangalore and a Masters in Biomedical Engineering from WPI, Massachusetts. Her ten years of work experience include research and business analysis.

Lalithashree Rajesh:

Lalitha is a yoga and meditation teacher who is eager to help people become more mindful and lead a fulfilling life. After exploring various spiritual paths for 15 years, she is now a regular practitioner of Vipassana meditation and yoga. She completed an RYT200 certification in 2018 and more recently, a Yin Yoga teacher training. In addition to regular asana, pranayama and meditation classes, she also takes classes for a group of adults with special needs. In the past, she has conducted classes for various underprivileged groups such as destitute children, remand home inmates, individuals with special needs, and children with cancer.Lalitha has an engineering background and an IT experience of 15 years, during which she gained expertise in software documentation and team management (along with the art of balancing a career and a home with two growing boys). Now yoga and meditation are her way of life and (pre)occupation.

Bhagya sanjeeva

Bhagya is a 500 RYT, certified in Vinyasa and Hatha styles. After having worked in the IT industry for almost a decade, she pursued her practice and training in 2016.

The self practise bought a significant change in her life which inspired her to teach and share the knowledge and benefits with others too. She is passionate about teaching and hopes to inspire more people to join the Yoga community. 

Swarnalata V.

Swarnalatha Venkataram (Bindu) is a long term yoga practitioner who has been studying with Sri. Swaroop R Sharma (co-founder of S A T T V A) since 2014. Her studies include philosophy, Samskritam and Bhagavad Gita and various other Veda chanting. Apart from philosophy, Bindu is a 500 hr trained asana teacher who specializes in Prenatal yoga and has been the lead teacher in multiple prenatal yoga teacher training programs in Bangalore and Hyderabad. She also teaches children with special needs.

ASWATHY MANOHARAN:

Our multi-talented yoga teacher, Aswathy Manoharan has been practicing yoga for over a decade. Yoga serves as her anchor and shapes her philosophy of life. What began as a warm up routine in her dance classes to increase her strength and flexibility, soon became the guiding light on her path of self discovery. Once she experienced the beauty of yoga, she couldn’t wait to share it with the rest of the world!

She takes pride in the fact that she has completed 500 hours of training at Aayana Yoga Academy and has taught yoga classes for over 4000 hours both online and offline in India as well as internationally. In addition to leading hatha, vinyasa, and pranayama classes, she specializes in relaxation practices. Aswathy makes her presence known not only in the yoga class but also on stage as a professional dancer and an actor in Malayalam movies.

KAMAL MALIRAMANI

Our HINDI Teacher, Kamal Maliramani is the founder of Energizer yoga and has been practicing yoga for over 15 years. He began his journey looking to start meditation and was encouraged to begin with asana to establish stillness in the physical body. He studied in the traditions of Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and later in acro yoga. Along with Hatha yogasanas, he conducts regular courses and workshops on Yoga Sutras to help people connect with the philosophy and take yoga beyond the mat into their daily lives. His mantra is add life to living – “People are living, but there’s no life, with Yoga we bring life to living” he says.


Deepthi Rao:

Deepthi Rao is a yoga teacher based out of Bangalore who started her yoga journey as a marathon runner looking to complement her training. The practice spoke to her deeply and there was no looking back after that. She pursued her curiosity and interest in Yoga and went on to certify as a 500-hr Yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance and holds an Msc degree in Yoga from S-VYASA with special interest in Yoga Nidra and Sleep Research.  She currently guides asana, pranayama and yoga nidra classes. She is also a teacher of Anatomy & Physiology for various TTCs. She enjoys writing about topics related to Yoga and also hosts The DeepThings Podcast. She strongly believes authentic education can empower us to be agents of our own health and wellness. 

Alisha Netalkar

Alisha is a yoga and meditation practitioner for 10 years with a teaching experience of over 5 years. She has taught at the SWAN Yoga Retreat in Goa and at the award-winning spa, Ananda In the Himalayas, near Rishikesh. Alisha is a certified, 200Hr Classical Hatha Yoga teacher from the Sivananda Yoga & Vedanta Ashram and has also been mentored in the Bihar School of Yoga tradition.

Bernie Gourley

He is a writer and yoga teacher (RYT-500.) While he holds graduate degrees in International Affairs and in Economics, in recent years he has focused on studying the science of improved mind / body performance. He teaches asana and pranayama as a means to better health, clarity, and emotional stability.

In a martial arts practice of over twenty-five years, he studied Japanese kobudo, muay-thai, kalaripayattu, and tai ji quan.

He is an American, but lived many years abroad in India and England, and has visited approximately 40 countries to date. His website can be found at:  www.berniegourley.com


Priyanka Jain

Priyanka is the founder of Eka, and through the app she seeks to bring to the world the lesser known aspects of yoga such as Pranayama, Yoga Nidra and the numerous styles of Meditations from the Tantras. She plans, writes and curates the content in the Eka app, and is often the head behind the various sessions. She has practiced yoga for more than five years, and completed her 200 hours Teacher Training Course in 2019, and is a regular self-practitioner. Read her story  here

Priyanka has a B.Tech from IIT Bombay, and an MBA from Judge Business School, Cambridge UK. Prior Eka, she has worked in analytics, business consulting, non-profits, and as a senior member in startups in the sustainability domain.
